It
has come to my attention that this software can sometimes freeze for
a moment and stop working properly. This occurred in a Windows 10
environment and may not be because of the compatibility issue or
mode/settings.
If
using it for important personal use, professional mastering, or
semi-professional business, I would recommend: not using it’s
recording feature (which has issues regarding quality) on low-end
PCs, and to be careful when using effects and editing long files.
Also, use Balanced mode for Power Settings and have at least over 4GB
of RAM. Use a decent processor too. Use Compatibility Mode and set it
to Windows Vista. There will be virtually no difference though. Try
to have an SSD or SD/Flash Storage with software and music files
instead of a HDD. If SSMS stops suddenly, look for the reason in
Reliability Monitor.
I
look forward to that time in the future when SSMS will become
irrelevant and its audio technology useless. At the current pace,
free software will take long years before reaching SSMS’s level of
user-operability and ‘funness’.
